About Can Do!

The Can Do! Education Foundation is a community-funded non-profit organization that provides vital funds to the Miller Creek School District in order to bridge the financial gap between current government funding and the cost of an enriched, well-rounded education for all our students.

How Does Can Do! Work?

Can Do! commits funds to the Miler Creek School District annually based on the needs as determined by the District Administrative Staff.  As Can Do! raises the money, the funds are disbursed to the District via a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that is agreed upon in May of the prior school year.  Additional funding outside the scope of the MOU is disbursed directly to the four schools of Miller Creek School District: Lucas Valley ElementaryMary E. Silveira ElementaryVallecito Elementary, and Miller Creek Middle School.

Each year Can Do! board members, volunteers, and staff work together to reach out to families and local businesses seeking financial contributions to help “bridge the gap” cost through our Annual Family Giving Campaign and our Business Partner Campaign.

Other funds are raised from:

  • SchoolsRule-Marin
  • Run As One
  • Holiday Online Auction
  • Annual Scotty’s/Can Do! Golf Tournament
  • Shop 4 Can Do!
  • Other Community events, donations, and miscellaneous Income
