Letter From our 2022-23 Board President
To Our Miller Creek School District Community,
Welcome back to what I’m sure will be another memorable school year. We at Can Do! look forward to seeing students back on campus and enjoying the enrichment programs and critical services each school site has to offer. As a parent of two students in the Miller Creek School District, I feel so fortunate to be a part of a school community that lays the foundation for supporting well-rounded students. Can Do! is a community-funded, non-profit organization that provides vital funds to the Miller Creek School District to bridge the financial gap between current state and local funding and the cost of an enriched, well-balanced education.
Through Can Do!’s partnership with the district, we are able to raise funds to meet the needs of our students by supporting elementary school Art, PE, and Music & Movement specialists, for the Miller Creek Middle School Wellness Center and counseling services as well as middle school academic and leadership clubs, afterschool sports and special interest clubs; and in aiding in providing a Chromebook or iPad for each of our 1,800+ students. And this is a sampling of the programs we fund.
Through the incredible support, work ethic, and creativity of our Board of Directors and staff and in partnership with our generous school community, we will work throughout the school year to achieve our goal of raising $750,000. We hope you choose to support Can Do! with a $750 donation per student so the district can continue to provide a full slate of enrichment options for our students. We also hope you will join us at (m)any of our events this year including the Drive-In Movie Night (Sept. 9), the Autumn Online Auction, Scotty's Market/Can Do! 25th Annual Golf Tournament (May 5), and our Adult Dance Party.
On behalf of the Can Do! Board of Directors and staff, I would like to send out a huge thank you to all those families who have contributed and supported Can Do! throughout the years. Can Do! is excited and committed to raising funds that benefit all students in the Miller Creek School District. These programs are only available as a result of the support and generosity of families like yours.
